B&B Opened in 2004

Mayor Lord's House in Meadville, Pennsylvania opened its doors in November of 2004. Over the years we have grown beyond expectations and changes have been made along the way.

Our connections with the community have grown as well and we have now partnered with two locally owned coffee shop/cafes down the street where our guests are welcome to settle into their morning with "breakfast in the community". Guests can get their Meadville "vibe" on while enjoying a "free" guest breakfast on us. It's complimentary for each guest on the reservation!

Our staffing has also grown - its no longer possible to be a one person operation... we are a thriving hospitality business!

Sherry is the Business Manager handling the business side of daily operations and guest relations. She is the person most guest stays are guided by and is always available to help guests during their stay. Just ask!

Heidi's job has quickly evolved into a combination of Assistant Manager and Property Manager. She knows how to keep all aspects of our locations in good shape and ready for guests. She is amazing!

Stacie is our newest team member and has quickly become indispensable. Her high cleaning standards make our properties a true home away from home for guests. We appreciate her eye for detail as will you!

Our Student employees rotate in and out working as needed and as available each term. They help with House, Garden, Pool and Technology -making any tech project look easy!

History:
Mayor Lord's is a 1920’s home with original Craftsman-style woodwork throughout, built by Lewis L. Lord, a Meadville Mayor from 1901 to 1904. His grandfather Samuel L. Lord, an early Meadville settler, gave 20 acres of land in 1820 for the founding of Allegheny College. Allegheny's Bentley Hall and the "old campus" are situated on this gifted land. Also on campus Lords Gate was built in honor of Samuel Lord.

The Carriage House was built in 1860 and is situated on what was called the "Old Farm" serving as the main carriage house for two grand mansions on Terrace Street, the Baldwin Reynolds House and the Huidekoper mansion. This very large and grand carriage house is located on the interior of the block -a true hidden gem.
